Its always the way. You wait for a new camera from Panasonic and a whole lot come along at once. However this camera is slightly different to all of the others that have been released recently. This is the Panasonic DMC FZ 18, with its most stand out feature the 18 x optical zoom.

This camera features, 8.1 mega pixel CCD, with a 28 504 mm lens, optical image stabilisation which will make adjustments for hand shaking, and an intelligent ISO control.

But of course that is not all, the FZ 18 has a 2.5 inch LCD that has 207,000 pixels, 0.44 inch electric viewfinder that has 188,000 pixels, and the Venus engine III.

The camera boast some serious credentials, and yet could be described as a starter camera for someone getting into mainstream photography, that sounds like belittling the camera, but of this is not the features far out way any on an equivalent camera.

The Panasonic FZ series are built to the highest quality using the good materials, this achieves the balance between a good high performance, portability, great picture quality and ease of use, all the qualities needed for a great camera.

Extras available:

Panasonic DMW-LT55 Tele conversion lens.

Panasonic DMW-LC55 Close-up lens.

Panasonic DMW-LND46 ND filter.

Panasonic DMW-LMC46 MC protector.

Panasonic DMW-LA3 Lens adaptor.

Panasonic DMW-AC7 AC adaptor.

Panasonic CGR-S006 Battery pack.

Panasonic DMW-CZS7 Soft case.

Panasonic DMW-CZ18 Camera Bag.

The LUMIX DMC-FZ18 will be available in silver and black in September 2007 for an MSRP of $399.95.
