Is it the G1 or the Hero?
HTC recently announced that its new Android Smartphone will be known as the Hero Handset, but T-Mobile quickly disagreed, deciding to instead refer to it with their customers as the T-Mobile G1 Touch.

Thus, it is highly likely that Orange and T-Mobile will square up against each other when it comes time to sign into a contract with the new HTC mobile, and the mobile is likely to be like a dog that learns to respond to its name and the word ‘dog.’

T-Mobile has announced that it will release the G1 Touch towards the middle of July at a contract price of £40 per month.

On the other hand, Orange offers a small undercut to entice customers with a £39.15 contract, but keep in mind Orange may be calling it the Hero mobile which can get confusing while comparing contract plans if not careful.

Just in case you are not confused yet, the Hero will be available in black only with T-Mobile and dark grey (graphite) with an Orange contract.

Regardless of the name, the new HTC gadget will have a 3.2 touch screen, 5 megapixel camera, and is much more advanced then the original Android prototype the G1.
