Dublin-based SMS service provider, Anam, has signed up three new global operators for its Smart SMS Services.
Unnamed mobile operators in Taiwan, Vietnam and Ireland plan to use Anam’s services to increase revenues from SMS.
“These deals highlight the value that our Smart Services solutions can bring to global mobile operators, with about another eight million mobile subscribers now able to access services,” said Jote Bassi, Anam VP of global sales.
Smart Services provided by Anam include Messaging+, which adds email functions to SMS such as forwarding and autoreponder, and Anti-SPAM, which blocks unwanted advertising messages.
Other Smart Services include Ad-Funded SMS, which allows operators to increase revenues by placing adverts at the end of messages, Parental Control, enabling the blocking of certain messages from a child’s handset, and Money Transfer, allowing phone users to send money to any contacts in their address book using a standard text message.
Anam CEO Gerry McKenna said: “Our Smart Services solutions are helping many global operators create new, revenue-generating, SMS-borne services.”
He added that subscribers like Smart SMS services because they are easy to access and understand.
Anam’s current global customers and partners include BT, Telenor, Telus, Citic, Go Mobile, Cisco, Motorola, Ericsson, and HP.
