O2 is winning the major bids this year as it has already acquired the exclusive rights to the Palm Pre and iPhone and can now add the Toshiba TG01 Smartphone to its list of offerings.
While the Toshiba is not the most recognisable, it is technically speaking the most advanced Smartphone to be available to the public as of yet.
Running at a price of 150Eur with a contact and 500Eur without a contract, the mobile is available currently only in Japan until O2 places it on sale at its launch.
Spanish company Moviestar and the German O2 have previously announced that they will offer the Toshiba G01 as well.
Toshiba announced the arrival of the G01 at the Mobile World Congress back in the beginning of 2009 and stated that it is powered by a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon chipset which makes it the fastest processing unit on the market.
The Toshiba mobile has a large 4.1 touchscreen that allows for a resolution of 800×480 pixels that is only 9.9mm thick and weighs only 129g.
It has a 5 megapixel camera that is capable of autofocus.
The mobile will run originally with Windows 6.1 at launch date and will be upgraded for users free to the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
The Toshiba TG01 is expected to become available on July 9th.
It comes with the apps you would expect, including YouTube and Facebook among plenty of others, plus of course Wi-Fi capabilities.
